In 2007, Kevin Newton founded Honest Abe Roofing and began offering roofing services in Terre Haute Indiana and the surrounding areas.  He began like many roofers, by knocking on doors and asking if the homeowners needed any work done.  After doing this for a number of years (and getting permanent calluses on his knuckles from the number of doors he knocked) he realized that while doing business this way was paying the bills it was going to be impossible to grow.  So, he began researching how companies in other industries operated and found that by operating more like a retail business does with regard to advertising and customer service he could begin to scale and hire more employees.  

For the last 10 years, Honest Abe Roofing has been learning and growing unlike any other company in the Roofing Industry.   This learning and growing has come from a lot of trial and error.  But, fortunately for you, through our trial and error we have developed a system that is bullet proof and has led to our substantial growth over the years.  By becoming an Honest Abe Roofing Franchisee you will have access to our operations manual as well as our online training portal through which you will learn everything that you need to learn to run a successful franchised business.


Throughout the country there are thousands of roofing companies of varying size and skill level that are able to install a roof.  If you want to stand out in this highly competitive industry you have to bring more to the table than just the materials and labor.  That's where the Honest Abe Roofing system comes in.  

We view ourselves as a customer service business first and foremost.  Of course, a quality product is important but equally as important is the customer experience.  From the moment the customer calls we make them feel important.  We believe that you should treat every prospective customer exactly the same as you would treat your biggest customer.  It was with that philosophy that Honest Abe Roofing truly expanded, and as a franchisee you will be trained to provide your customers with the same experience.

We will teach you everything from the proper way to answer the phone all the way through asking for referrals from your happy customers once their job is completed.  This ethos has been a driving factor in our growing from revenues of $1.6 million in 2012 to $8.1 million in 2017 (See Item 19 in our F.D.D. for clarification).
