Gain Freedom by Being Your Own Boss
Happy Independence Day!
Today is America's "Birthday", or as most people call it, Independence day. It's purpose is to celebrate the birth of our great nation. It's supposed to be a day of reflection and remembrance of the struggles that our forefathers went through to create the greatest nation on the planet. That's why we didn't bother you with this email yesterday... So, now that we await the 4th of July celebrations, let's begin to think about you and your freedom. Let's make today your "Independence Day"!
What is Freedom? When you're lacing up your shoes in the morning getting ready for "the daily grind", do you feel excitement? Are you filled with optimism? Or, are you like most American's, just going through the motions to get a paycheck? If you answered yes to the latter, you aren't living in the type of freedom our forefathers were seeking when they founded this country. What they brought forth on this great continent, was a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that ALL men are created equal. When you work for someone else, you aren't necessarily considered equal with your employer. you're working to accomplish their dreams. You're working to give them freedom, while neglecting your own.
Sounds a lot like, "taxation without representation", doesn't it? Freedom can also be defined as liberty. We feel that liberty more aptly defines the state of mind that we are all searching for.
The most well known quote regarding liberty comes from Patrick Henry - "Give me liberty, or give me death". Henry says it all about how important liberty is. But, when it comes to defining the word, Henry Ward Beecher does it perfectly - "Liberty is the soul's right to breathe and, when it cannot take a long breath, laws are girdled too tight".
If you feel that the "laws" of your current career are girdled too tight. It may be time for you to pursue the liberty that can be attained by owning your own business.
