We all love watching people achieve greatness.  We marvel when Michael Jordan hits a game winning shot, we cheer when Michael Phelps wins another gold medal and we're moved to tears when a musician plays a flawless concierto.  We idealize these performers, as we should, but we rarely think about the thousands of hours of practice that went into making these great performances possible.  

In Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers, the concept of the 10,000 hour rule was outlined clearly.  Essentially, if you want to be world class at anything you need to practice for 10,000 hours.  We feel the same goes true for the roofing business.  At Honest Abe Roofing we are on a constant quest to become the greatest roofing company in the world, so we practice like we want to become the greatest roofing company in the world! 

We teach you how to start every morning with a training focused meeting with your roofing advisors where you will address any gaps in our collective skillset as well as highlight, and learn from, areas in which particular team members excel.  You will role play as often as if you were Hollywood actors. We also teach you the importance of continuing technical training for both your Roofing Advisors and your Field Managers.  You must be the EXPERT in roofing if you're going to stand out in your territory.  We can get you to be that expert.

INITIAL TRAINING - INAUGURATION PERIOD

ONSITE TRAINING AT THE HONEST ABE ROOFING CAMPUS - TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA

Prior to opening, you will attend a comprehensive, 2 week long training program we call the Inauguration Period.  You will learn everything about running your new business during this immersive learning program.  By the time you graduate you will be able to perform every task necessary to succeed.  But, like with all quick crash courses, you will likely forget a lot of what you learned during your initial training.  

Relax... We knew that would happen.  Remember, it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert.  you can hardly do that over a 2 week period.  And, we could hardly expect you to stay around for 10,000 hours - YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY!  That's why we wrote our Operations Manual and why we created Honest Abe University.

ONGOING TRAINING WITH HONEST ABE ROOFING

As previously stated "practice makes perfect", but in reality only structured practice with a coach can make you "world class".  That's right, it takes practice guided by a coach to truly achieve your potential.  That's what we provide to our franchisees!

After your Inauguration period, you will be given access to Honest Abe University.  You will use this platform as a way to reinforce the learning that you did during your initial training.  But more importantly, you will use HAU to systematically train your employees.

Research shows that having a video/testing based training platform leads to an 80% higher retention rate than workbooks alone.  By using this system to train your employees you will have measurable, predictable results. The reason most people don't like their job is because they haven't been trained how to do it properly.  By using HAU, you will have highly trained employees that actually enjoy working for you.

Your initial training will begin immediately when you decide to join our team as a franchise owner.  Within 24 hours of becoming an Honest Abe Roofing franchisee you will gain access to Honest Abe University, our proprietary online training system.  Your H.A.U. training will commence with a brief overview of the Honest Abe Roofing culture.  After that you will be introduced to the Honest Abe Roofing Prevent a 'no' Sales System, in which you will be given everything that you need to present effectively, overcome objections, build value, ask for the business and close.  Once you complete the sales training you will begin the operations training where you will learn how to hire partner crews, oversee installations, run financing, invoice customers, ensure the Honest Abe Roofing quality standards are being met and much more.
